Senior Document Controller – London
We are working with an established London contractor to appoint a Senior Document Controller to take ownership of document control and information management across several landmark projects based in London.
This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced construction Document Controller who can manage competing project demands, drive best practice and act as the central point of contact for project information. You will work closely with Project Directors, Design Managers, Commercial teams, consultants and subcontractors to ensure information is accurate, controlled and available when needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead document control across three concurrent London construction projects.
- Take full ownership of the project EDMS/Common Data Environment, with Viewpoint 4Projects (4P) the preferred system.
- Manage and control drawings, specifications, design information, technical submittals, RFIs, O&M manuals and project correspondence.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers, document trackers, technical-submittal schedules and project information reports.
- Ensure all teams are working from the latest approved drawings and documentation, with clear revision control and distribution processes in place.
- Coordinate the flow of information between internal delivery teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
- Support Design Managers and site teams with design deliverables, programme milestones, project audits and handover requirements.
- Monitor outstanding information, approvals and actions, escalating issues where required to avoid delays to delivery.
- Ensure document-control processes are followed in line with company procedures, ISO standards and client requirements.
- Help establish and maintain consistent document-control standards across the projects, providing support and guidance to other team members where needed.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Document Controller within a main contractor, developer or major construction environment.
- Experience managing document control across multiple live projects, ideally within London.
- Strong, practical experience using Viewpoint 4Projects (4P); experience with Asite, Aconex or Procore would also be beneficial.
- A strong understanding of construction design, technical-submittal, commissioning and handover processes.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of information under pressure.
- The confidence to work independently while building effective relationships with senior project teams, consultants and subcontractors.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to prioritise effectively across several project teams.
