About the role

BDP are seeking a Senior Document Controller to work out of one of our studios, serving projects across the business. You will give advice to teams and clients and provide management of documentation throughout projects from creation to retention to ensure compliance with company, corporate and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Register and action all project documentation on the chosen document management system
  • Ensure that all documentation is issued according to the relevant standards
  • Conduct a check on all documentation passing through Document Control to ensure documents meet the relevant protocols i.e., document numbers, revisions etc
  • Apply quality standards, procedures & processes for the company and the department
  • Support the development of document control procedures and processes contained within the company Document Management System
  • Assist in audits when required
  • Attend project meetings if required to gain understanding of the project and learn what KPIs are required regarding documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal staff members at all levels.
  • Assist with or lead the allocation of workload across a small BDP wide document control team.
  • Any additional tasks as requested by the profession manager

About you

You will have relevant experience being a Document Controller within the design and/or construction industry - along with:

  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Awareness of ISO19650 standards applicable to document control
  • Good level of English language (written and spoken communication)
  • Ability to manage own time scales and workload
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact and communicate with people at all levels within the business
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Clients and partner consultants.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with document controllers across offices as part of the wider document control team

This is a full-time, permanent position. Hybrid working of 3 days in the studio minimum can be considered. Flexibility is required to reach deadlines.
