The Role

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join an established civil engineering team based in Liverpool.

This is a hands-on senior engineering position, working across a range of residential developments and large industrial/commercial schemes. You’ll be responsible for delivering drainage design solutions from concept through to detailed design, whilst also providing technical input and acting as a key point of contact for clients.

The role is suited for an experienced drainage engineer who is comfortable working independently, managing their own projects and bringing strong technical knowledge to client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drainage designs and delivery of residential and large-scale industrial/commercial developments.
  • Produce and review drainage designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Use Civil 3D, Flow, and Site3D to develop and deliver drainage solutions.
  • Attend client meetings, providing clear technical advice and confidently communicating design proposals.
  • Take ownership of projects and work closely with colleagues across the wider civil engineering team.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to more junior members of the team where required.
  • Liaise with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements, standards, and programme.
  • Review and resolve technical issues throughout the design process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
