The Senior Lead Practitioner
The Senior Lead Practitioner is a senior practice role within the Family Hub, responsible for leading high-quality Early Help practice and delivering targeted interventions that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families aged 0-18 years (up to 25 years for young people with additional needs where appropriate).
Working within a whole-family, strengths-based, and relationship-centred approach, the postholder will coordinate and deliver effective Early Help interventions, strengthen parenting capacity, and ensure families receive timely, coordinated support that prevents problems from escalating to statutory Children's Social Care.
The Senior Lead Practitioner will provide professional leadership and mentoring to Early Help Practitioners, oversee complex family interventions, and work collaboratively with partners across health, education, social care, police, and the voluntary and community sector to deliver integrated support through the Family Hub.
As a Lead Professional, the postholder will coordinate multi-agency planning where required, including facilitating Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings, ensuring children, young people, and their families remain at the centre of assessment, planning, and decision-making.
The role is fundamental to delivering the Family Hub and Families First vision by promoting early intervention, strengthening family resilience, improving partnership working, and reducing the need for statutory intervention.
