Senior Earthing Studies Engineer

Bristol or Warrington based - hybrid working

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Earthing Studies Engineer to work with us to help strengthen our electrical team. The role will be primarily desk based, with the need for occasional site visits and soil resistivity surveys.

Responsibilities

  • Perform earthing studies and analysis.
  • Conduct site visits for soil resistivity analysis, fall of potential, and earthing surveys.
  • Prepare earthing layout drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Understand and apply concepts such as EPR, touch and step voltage, fault current return paths, and soil resistivity.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years' experience of earthing studies, gained within a consultancy, ICP, renewable developer, or similar environment.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in AutoCAD for preparing site layouts.
    • Knowledge of earthing theory including EPR, touch and step voltages, and fault current return paths.
    • Familiarity with CDEGS or XGSLab.
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Other:
    • Own car and willingness to travel for soil resistivity surveys.
    • Confident in dealing with Clients to discuss results and actions.
    • Must be eligible to work in the UK, without requiring a visa.
