Senior Earthing Studies Engineer
Bristol or Warrington based - hybrid working
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Earthing Studies Engineer to work with us to help strengthen our electrical team. The role will be primarily desk based, with the need for occasional site visits and soil resistivity surveys.
Responsibilities
- Conduct earthing studies.
- Perform soil resistivity surveys.
- Prepare earthing layout drawings using AutoCAD.
- Move into more general power systems analysis if desired.
Requirements
- 4+ years' experience of earthing studies, gained within a consultancy, ICP, renewable developer, or similar environment.
- BSc, BEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with concepts such as EPR, touch and step voltage, fault current return paths, and soil resistivity.
- Own car and willingness to travel for soil resistivity surveys.
- Confident with AutoCAD for preparing site layouts.
- Knowledge of earthing theory including EPR, touch and step voltages, and fault current return paths.
- Knowledge of CDEGS or XGSLab (desirable).
- Confident in dealing with clients to discuss results and actions.
- Eligible to work in the UK without requiring a visa.
