Senior EC&I Engineer Contract Opportunity | Hybrid Working (3 Days per Week) Renfrew

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days per week on-site and the remainder working remotely.

The Role

As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, taking responsibility for the delivery of key engineering packages from design through to construction and commissioning.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the development and implementation of complex control systems and machinery solutions, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce EC&I design documentation and technical deliverables.
  • Prepare Control System Specifications.
  • Develop Shutdown Cause & Effect documentation.
  • Produce datasheets and technical requisitions for long-lead equipment.
  • Review and check cable block diagrams, routing diagrams, schedules and termination drawings.
  • Raise and manage technical queries, ensuring any design discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and close-out activities.
  • Deliver LV electrical power design solutions.
  • Support construction and commissioning activities on site.
  • Liaise effectively with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree qualified (BEng/BSc or equivalent) in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in EC&I engineering.
  • Strong background in EC&I design, construction and commissioning.
  • Experience of control systems upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of:
    • PLC systems
    • SCADA systems
    • Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
    • LV electrical power systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning activities and Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • TÜV Functional Safety qualification.
  • Experience with Motion Control and Servo applications.
  • Previous experience working in highly regulated industries.
