EfW Maintenance Technician – Electrical, Control and Instrumentation
SUEZ are looking for an EC&I Maintenance Technician to join our team. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical plant systems, troubleshooting complex control equipment, and supporting safe, efficient operations.
About The Role
Salary: £51,687 - £56,257 (structured progression plan to bring your salary to £60,149)
Benefits: up to 10% annual bonus, 3x life assurance policy, 25 days holiday (plus 10 bank holidays), 5% employer pension, sick pay and additional benefits
Call Out / Over time Available: Overtime opportunities are available during two planned plant maintenance shutdowns each year. Overtime is paid at 1.5x or 2x the standard hourly rate, depending on the time worked.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri

What will I be doing?
As an EC&I Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our Energy from Waste facility.

You'll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of electrical, control and instrumentation systems, helping to maximise plant availability and performance.
- You will provide on-site expertise on specialist equipment such as the CEMs (Emissions monitoring) and DCS/PLCs.
- You should also provide cross functional support to other team members, as and when required.
- Supporting the installation, testing, commissioning and modification of plant equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and engineering standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and control issues to minimise downtime and improve plant performance.
- Working closely with operations and maintenance colleagues to support safe and efficient plant operations.
What are the requirements?
- Completed relevant engineering apprenticeship and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of wiring regulations BS7671 (18th edition)
- Solid experience in PLCs, instrumentation troubleshooting, and DCS systems.
- Instrumentation experience and troubleshooting
- Emissions monitoring qualification/experience (Training can be provided)
- Suitable health and safety qualification/experience (Training can be provided)
- The ideal candidate would be multiskilled or willing to be trained
There is also a requirement to return to site outside normal working hours in the event of plant breakdowns. For these call-outs, a one-off attendance payment is made, together with a minimum of four hours' pay at the applicable overtime rate, regardless of the actual time spent on site.
