Are you an experienced Ecologist ready to step into a senior role where you can lead projects, develop junior colleagues and deliver genuinely positive outcomes for biodiversity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing, multidisciplinary environmental and sustainability consultancy in London. You’ll become part of a collaborative ecology and biodiversity team working across a varied portfolio of development and planning projects, with a strong focus on Biodiversity Net Gain, ecological assessment and nature-positive development.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for delivering ecology and biodiversity projects from inception through to completion, while providing technical expertise to clients and wider multidisciplinary teams.

Your work will include:

  • Leading and delivering ecology and biodiversity projects.
  • Preparing and technically reviewing PEAs, BNG Assessments, BREEAM Ecology reports and protected species reports.
  • Undertaking UKHab, PEA, bat and protected species surveys.
  • Completing BNG calculations using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
  • Producing habitat and BNG mapping using QGIS.
  • Designing and leading moderate-complexity bat and protected species surveys.
  • Attending client meetings and providing ecological advice throughout the planning process.
  • Supporting, mentoring and line managing junior ecologists.
  • Contributing to larger multidisciplinary sustainability and development projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
