About Us
Since 2014, RammSanderson Environmental Solutions provides services to a wide range of clients across public and private sectors, from house builders and commercial builders, through to utilities and infrastructure projects including strategic land promotion. With a foundation of technical expertise and pragmatism, we continue to deliver quality results in a timely and cost-efficient manner to ensure regulatory compliance and fast progression for projects.
The Role
We are looking for a driven Senior Ecologist to lead ecological impact assessments, manage exciting projects, and help mentor our talented junior team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver ecological projects (PEA, EIA, and specialized protected species surveys).
- Lead client communications, consultations, and stakeholder management.
- Design and implement mitigation strategies and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
- Supervise field surveys and act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required.
- Write and review high-quality technical reports and EPS license applications.
- Mentor junior and assistant ecologists to support their professional growth.

What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Substantial ecological consultancy experience at a senior level.
- Qualifications: Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Memberships: CIEEM membership (or eligibility for it).
- Licensing: Natural England (or equivalent) protected species licences (e.g., bats, great crested newts) are highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong project management, risk assessment, and technical report-writing abilities.
- Mindset: A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for pragmatic conservation.
