Senior E-Commerce Merchandiser
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Location: Manchester – 5 days per week in the office
Pivotal is partnering with one of the UK’s fastest-growing online homeware retailers as they continue to significantly invest across their E-Commerce and Digital teams.
Operating at significant scale with a rapidly expanding product range of over 12,000 SKUs, the business has ambitious growth plans and is investing heavily across its website, customer experience and wider digital proposition.
They are now looking for a Senior E-Commerce Merchandiser to take ownership of onsite merchandising strategy and help drive the next phase of E-Commerce growth.
This is a newly created, highly visible role reporting directly into the Head of E-Commerce & Digital. You’ll combine strong commercial merchandising expertise with data, customer behaviour and onsite optimisation to improve revenue, conversion and AOV across a large-scale E-Commerce environment.
The Opportunity
- Own and develop the onsite merchandising strategy across a product catalogue of 12,000+ SKUs.
- Drive improvements across revenue, conversion rate, AOV and wider E-Commerce performance.
- Shape how products, categories and ranges are presented across the website.
- Own and optimise onsite search, navigation, personalisation and product recommendation capabilities.
- Work closely with Buying & Merchandising to translate range plans, NPD and commercial priorities into best-in-class onsite execution.
- Use customer behaviour, trading performance and testing to continuously improve product discovery and the customer journey.
- Join a rapidly growing E-Commerce function with significant ownership, visibility and scope to help shape how the team develops.

Responsibilities
- Own onsite merchandising strategy to maximise revenue, conversion rate and AOV.
- Monitor category and product performance, identifying opportunities for growth and addressing underperformance.
- Own the roadmap, configuration and optimisation of onsite merchandising technology.
- Develop and test merchandising rules across search, navigation, personalisation and recommendation engines.
- Work closely with Buying & Merchandising teams to ensure NPD, range plans, stock and commercial priorities are effectively represented online.
- Use E-Commerce performance insights and customer behaviour to influence range planning and category structures.
- Optimise product placement across onsite activations and Marketing campaigns using sales, margin, stock, UX and conversion data.
- Provide product and category insights to support CRM, Paid Media and Organic Marketing activity.
- Produce accurate, commercially focused reporting to inform wider E-Commerce and Marketing strategy.
- Support SEO and GEO best practice across the product catalogue, helping maximise visibility across Organic Search, AI overviews and LLMs.

Your Profile
- Strong experience within E-Commerce / Online Merchandising in a retail environment.
- Experience managing and merchandising large product catalogues across high-volume E-Commerce websites.
- Strong understanding of onsite trading, product/category performance and customer journeys.
- Commercially minded, with experience optimising towards revenue, conversion rate, AOV and wider trading KPIs.
- Hands-on experience with onsite merchandising tools such as Nosto, Klevu, Algolia or similar.
- Experience across onsite search, navigation, personalisation and/or product recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and customer behaviour into commercial actions.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing and E-Commerce teams.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive and comfortable operating within a fast-paced growth environment.
- Experience with Magento 2 and Google Analytics would be advantageous.
