Senior Electoral Services Officer x2 posts

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Hybrid working

Do you want to build your knowledge, experience, and skills in a dynamic and people-focused London electoral services team?

Lambeth is looking for two highly motivated individuals to lead in strategic and operational electoral registration activities and the conduct of elections.

Acting as a senior driving force for the team, you’ll need excellent analytical, operational, and critical thinking skills to meet a range of daily challenges, including year-round electoral registration, the conduct of elections and referenda, and continuous service improvement.

You’ll have a proven track record in electoral registration and elections or suitable transferrable skills and experience. You’ll also currently hold or be willing to work towards gaining the AEA Certificate in Electoral Administration.

Additionally, you must be able to work flexibly, particularly at election times when significant evening and weekend working is required.

About you

You’ll be thorough and proactive, with excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail.

You’ll also be able to:

  • Deliver complex and demanding tasks to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate collaborative teamwork skills.
  • Use information technology and data to drive innovation and improve service delivery.
  • Understand and apply best practice with a high level of quality assurance in service delivery and customer care.
  • Show adaptability and resilience when working under pressure at peak times.

Key service goals for 2026/27 include:

  • Annual electoral canvass for circa 155,000 residential properties.
  • Renewal exercise for 3,000 British overseas voters.
  • Preparing for the Representation of People Bill, including votes at 16 and changes to candidate rules at elections.
  • Completion of our integrated electoral data project.
  • Building on outreach and engagement successes to encourage greater democratic participation.
  • Planning and preparation for the 2028 Mayor of London and London Assembly elections.
