Senior Electrical Engineer Cambridge | Building Services Consultancy | Science, Research & Healthcare Projects

Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for greater project ownership and the opportunity to lead the delivery of complex, high-profile developments?

We're partnering with an award-winning engineering consultancy that is investing heavily in the growth of its Cambridge team.

Due to continued project wins, they're looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design packages across some of the UK's most prestigious Science & Research, Healthcare and Commercial developments.

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client engagement, project leadership and team development.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take responsibility for leading projects and managing the electrical discipline from concept design through to project completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading electrical design delivery on complex building projects.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Taking ownership of project programmes, budgets and technical outputs.
  • Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications and reports.
  • Coordinating with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Overseeing contractor design information and site activities.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning and final project handovers.
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • Contributing to business development and future project opportunities.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Significant experience within a Building Services consultancy.
  • Strong technical understanding of LV distribution, lighting, standby power and electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven experience leading projects and coordinating teams.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working towards or already holding CEng status.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage project risks and deliverables.
