Job Details
The role will support the delivery of high–quality building services engineering solutions across a wide range of projects and sectors. The position will lead elements of project design delivery, ensuring accurate technical outputs and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Working as part of our client's engineering team, the role will contribute to the development of innovative and efficient building services designs while mentoring junior engineers and supporting project teams to deliver projects in line with client requirements, industry standards, and internal quality processes.
- Lead and contribute to the delivery of electrical engineering design solutions across multiple projects and sectors.
- Develop detailed engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings in line with industry standards and internal quality procedures.
- Ensure the timely delivery of accurate design information throughout project stages.
- Act as a key point of coordination between engineering teams and the in–house or external Revit/CAD teams.
- Develop and present technical design solutions that respond to client briefs and project performance requirements.
- Maintain oversight of project deliverables and report progress to line managers or project managers.
- Ensure engineering design outputs are delivered within project programmes and deadlines.
- Identify and communicate project risks, technical issues, or client feedback to senior team members.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and designers within the engineering team. Provide guidance on technical design development and best practice engineering solutions.
- Contribute to maintaining consistent engineering standards and design quality across projects.
- Support collaborative working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and other members of the external design team.
- Present technical solutions and design strategies clearly to project stakeholders. Support the development of strong professional relationships with clients and project partners.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for future business development through project relationships.
- Produce detailed engineering calculations and coordinated technical design outputs.
- Support project coordination and multidisciplinary design integration.
- Apply industry standards, design guidance, and internal engineering processes.
- Utilise engineering modelling and design software to support project delivery.
- Maintain awareness of project management tools and delivery processes.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness when delivering engineering solutions.

Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Typically 5+ years' experience within a building services engineering consultancy. Working towards or holding relevant professional accreditation (CIBSE, IET, or equivalent).
- Experience delivering engineering design across a range of project types and sectors. Understanding of project coordination and multidisciplinary design environments. Practical experience supporting project delivery across public and private sector projects.
- Experience using industry design and modelling tools including CAD and Revit, Bluebeam, IES or Amtech, EOM, Dialux, and Relux software packages.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and design teams.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks across multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as collaboratively within project teams.
