Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire - Hybrid (3 days onsite per week required)
Salary: Up to £59,000 + company benefits
Visa Sponsorship: Available

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist power transformer engineering business.

This is a senior technical role focused on the electrical design of power transformers and reactors up to 132kV / 120MVA, while also supporting the wider engineering team and deputising for the Electrical Design Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design power transformers and reactors up to 132kV / 120MVA
  • Produce BOMs and technical documentation
  • Review and approve designs, drawings, and supplier documentation
  • Support tendering activities with technical datasheets and compliance documents
  • Analyse test results and support continuous improvement
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, production, quality, and purchasing teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and apprentices

Essential Requirements

  • Significant electrical design experience of power transformers in an OEM manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with 132kV transformer and reactor design
  • Strong knowledge of transformer electrical design calculations and design software
  • Experience with FEMM / electromagnetic analysis tools
  • Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
