An exciting opportunity to join a growing, ambitious M&E consultancy at a pivotal point in its journey. Our client is a well-established, locally based M&E consultancy that has recently secured significant investment, creating an exciting period of growth, positive change and opportunity across the business. With an ambitious strategy for the future and a team of high-performing engineers and professionals around them, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is an opportunity to join a business where your experience will genuinely matter. You’ll have the chance to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships, support more junior engineers and play an important role in shaping the continued growth of the electrical engineering team.
Role
Working across a diverse range of sectors, you’ll be involved in delivering high-quality electrical building services solutions from concept through to completion. Projects span defence, healthcare, education, commercial and other technically demanding sectors, providing plenty of variety and the opportunity to work on challenging and interesting schemes. - Leading and delivering electrical building services design across a range of projects.
- Producing and reviewing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Working across projects from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Undertaking surveys and condition assessments.
- Supporting the delivery of wider M&E design services.
- Working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Helping to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Taking an active role in the continued development and growth of the electrical team.

Qualifications / Experience
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong experience in electrical building services design within an M&E consultancy or similar environment
- Experience across one or more of the defence, healthcare, education or commercial sectors is beneficial
- Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards, regulations and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with clients and project stakeholders.
- The ability to lead projects and support the development of more junior engineers.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ambition to progress.
