Electrical Design Engineer (Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Contract) to join our Building Services team in Manchester. This role will involve delivering high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on technically challenging schemes across multiple sectors.
Experience in healthcare projects would be highly beneficial, alongside exposure to commercial, residential, and other sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical design solutions for building services projects from concept through to completion
- Undertake design calculations, specifications, and detailed drawings
- Work across a variety of sectors including healthcare, commercial, residential, industrial, and education
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and efficient design delivery
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK regulations, standards, and industry best practice
- Support project delivery to meet programme, budget, and quality requirements
- Provide technical input during construction stages, including site visits where required

About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a building services consultancy or contractor environment
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design
- Experience using relevant design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Experience working on healthcare projects (highly desirable)
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills
