Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Solar & Energy Storage

About the Company

Our client is an international renewable energy company specialising in the development, engineering, construction and operation of utility scale solar PV and battery energy storage projects across Europe, Africa and other international markets.

With more than two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, the business has built a strong international track record delivering projects across the full lifecycle, from early stage development and technical design through to construction, commissioning and operations.

The company operates across multiple international markets, giving its technical teams exposure to different grid requirements, regulatory environments and project configurations. Its portfolio includes utility scale solar PV, commercial and industrial solar and increasingly sophisticated battery energy storage projects.

The business is particularly active in the development of co located solar and battery storage projects, where strong electrical engineering is critical to the successful integration of generation, storage, grid connection and control systems.

The technical team plays a central role within the wider organisation, providing engineering expertise across projects and helping to establish consistent technical standards and international best practice. This is an opportunity to join a growing renewable energy business where you will have genuine technical ownership and exposure to complex international projects.

The Opportunity

The company is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its technical engineering team.

You will be responsible for providing detailed electrical engineering and design support across a portfolio of solar PV and battery energy storage projects, with a particular focus on co located solar and BESS developments across Europe and Africa.

Working closely with engineering, project development, construction and commercial teams, you will take ownership of key electrical design activities and ensure projects meet the required technical, regulatory and quality standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
