About The Role
WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based in Glasgow and will benefit from Hybrid working. You will support project delivery across WGM’s growing UK water-sector portfolio. This is a business-critical opportunity to join a growing engineering business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK.
As Senior Electrical Engineer within our Follow On Work team, you will be supporting the successful delivery of workstreams across clean and waste water sites. You’ll be trusted to survey, plan and deliver electrical follow on works on various types of equipment, provide technical guidance to colleagues, and help ensure every workstream meets customer expectations, compliance requirements and commercial targets.
If you’re an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who wants to take ownership, influence delivery and make a visible impact across essential water infrastructure, this role gives you the opportunity to do exactly that. To support you in the role, you’ll be provided with a company van and fuel card, with a working pattern of 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 1.00pm on Fridays.
About The Team
WGM is growing through secured long-term frameworks across the UK water sector, including Scottish Water’s SR27 programme and major multi-year programmes with United Utilities and Southern Water. Job Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll make an impact by:
- Developing detailed workstream plans and making sure resources are available, aligned and ready to deliver.
- Taking ownership of workstream compliance and helping drive consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, clients and contractors, keeping communication clear and effective across all parties.
- Working closely with commercial colleagues to support compliant, commercially sound delivery.
Minimum Requirements
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A relevant construction qualification at HNC, HND, degree level or equivalent
- A strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background, ideally within a construction or utilities environment
- Knowledge of construction management processes, methods and practical delivery requirements
- The ability to manage your time, priorities and project commitments effectively
- You’ll communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- You’ll be highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple priorities at once
- A valid UK driving licence is essential
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Qualifications And Desirable Experience
The following would be helpful, but is not essential:
- A Construction Skills Certification Scheme card
- A clear understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience within the UK water/waste water sector, including work on Scottish Water sites

Salary And Benefits
We are offering a salary from £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
