An established multidisciplinary building-services consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its London team.

This opportunity would suit a hands-on Electrical Building Services Engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of electrical design packages, producing calculations and technical documentation, coordinating with other disciplines and communicating directly with clients and project teams.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing safe, coordinated and practical electrical building-services designs across a range of building projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical building-services design across power, lighting and LV distribution systems
  • Load assessments, diversity calculations and electrical distribution design
  • Cable sizing and protection calculations
  • Lighting calculations and modelling
  • Producing drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation
  • Coordinating electrical services with mechanical, structural and architectural disciplines
  • Managing your own design packages and project deliverables
  • Attending client and multidisciplinary design meetings
  • Reviewing designs and maintaining appropriate technical checking procedures
  • Supporting junior engineers where required
  • Responding to technical queries during project and construction stages

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Suitable Backgrounds

Candidates are likely to come from a building-services design consultancy, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy or similar environment.

This position is focused on electrical design, so profiles primarily based around installation, maintenance, testing, PLC/controls or domestic electrical work without building-services design responsibility are unlikely to be suitable.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established engineering consultancy delivering multidisciplinary building projects while continuing to develop technically and professionally.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work alongside experienced engineers and contribute directly to coordinated, sustainable building designs.
