Company Description
The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Anthro Design Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will review and produce electrical designs, and this may involve assuming a DPE role. We are looking for someone who’s dedicated, diligent, and driven, and will take this challenge head on, being an important part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.
You will be based in London and will be required to be in our office at Elephant and Castle 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor technical submittals for approval by the client
- Responsibility for producing electrical designs to project requirements
- Develop design from feasibility up to As Built
- Production of design proposals (e.g. sketches) for agreement with the client, stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
- Writing project communications such as Requests For Information (RFIs) & meeting minutes
- Maintaining trackers, registers and schedules
- Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
- Support and help develop less experienced members of the team
- Nurture a get it right first time culture within the team

Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering qualification and a minimum of 10 years professional experience
- Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
- Experience of working in an engineering production environment
- Experience of multi-disciplinary design and coordination, and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stages
- Experience of working with 3D models in a BIM environment
- Experience of producing technical notes, reports, specifications, drawings, schedules and calculations
- Ability to find solutions to engineering problems
- Capable of managing design interfaces and integration processes
- Good knowledge of British Standards and Regulations, and Rail Standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL
- Understanding of project scopes, requirements, works information, and commercial awareness
- Ability to deliver work to a programme and budget
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Capable of working as part of a team and on own initiative
- Comfortable leading meetings and presenting to clients, stakeholders, colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
- Excellent understanding of electrical systems from a technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintainability perspective
- Proficient in engineering software tools including Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux
- Awareness of procurement activities and lead times
- Being committed to professional development, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in rail design and engineering, integrating them into project designs as appropriate
