Senior Electrical Project Engineer

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our client's engineering team.
This is a senior technical role focused on the design, development, and through-life support of complex electrical systems and products. The successful candidate will work across new product development, upgrades to existing equipment, and customer-led engineering requirements, supporting mission-critical subsea and defence applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering design input across new systems, products, and existing equipment.
- Assess technical queries and develop practical, compliant engineering solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams including Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Software, Controls, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering.
- Represent the client during customer design reviews, technical discussions, audits, and acceptance testing.
- Produce and review engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, test procedures, certification, reports, and manufacturing drawings.
- Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with internal and external standards.
- Act as a technical approver for electrical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers.
- Support global commissioning, trials, and acceptance testing where required.

About You
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on electrical engineering and project delivery experience, ideally within subsea, marine, defence, or another highly regulated engineering environment.
You should have:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer.
- Strong electrical design experience covering power systems, particularly DC systems, controls, and instrumentation.
- Experience designing and supporting the manufacture of complex electrical systems.
- Competence using electrical design and CAD packages.
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD LT.
- Ability to prepare design calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical design standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience using Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Knowledge of CE compliance and design requirements.

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within subsea and/or naval defence projects would be particularly beneficial, alongside hands-on fault-finding experience on complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Candidates must also be able to obtain UK Security Clearance.
