Electrical Engineer – Low-Carbon Hydrogen Technologies
If you're an electrical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, developing cutting-edge technologies, and seeing your ideas progress from concept through to real-world deployment, this is an opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most exciting low-carbon technology sectors.
We're supporting an innovative engineering organisation developing technologies that will help drive the transition to low-carbon hydrogen production. As part of a growing engineering team, you'll work on the design, development, testing and delivery of new products and systems that are helping shape the future of sustainable energy.
This is not a maintenance, operations or support role. It is a development-focused engineering position offering the chance to work on technically challenging projects, contribute to new technology innovation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring novel solutions to market.
We're looking for an electrical engineer with strong technical fundamentals, a passion for innovation, and experience developing complex engineered products, equipment or systems. You'll play a key role in translating ideas into practical solutions and supporting the development of next-generation hydrogen technologies.
The role is predominantly office-based, working closely with engineers, project teams and stakeholders on design, development and technical problem-solving activities. There will be occasional workshop involvement supporting testing, validation and prototype development, but the majority of your time will be spent driving engineering projects from concept to delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
