Location: Peterborough / East Anglia

Contract: Permanent

Sector: Water / Electrical Engineering

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client's engineering team, supporting the delivery of a major programme of capital investment across the water sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take a senior technical role on a variety of complex water infrastructure projects across Peterborough and the wider East Anglia region.

With a significant pipeline of projects ahead, our client is investing in innovative and sustainable solutions across its water infrastructure portfolio. You'll have the opportunity to work on technically challenging schemes while helping to drive low-carbon design, digital engineering, modular construction and offsite solutions.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical support and direction across a portfolio of water-sector projects, ensuring electrical designs are fit for purpose and comply with current legislation, standards and client requirements.

You'll also play an important role in supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers within the team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing technical direction and electrical engineering expertise across a range of water infrastructure projects.
  • Reviewing and checking electrical design deliverables produced by internal engineering teams and the wider supply chain.
  • Reviewing specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings and 3D models to ensure the required technical, safety and quality standards are achieved.
  • Working closely with Principal Engineers, Design Managers and Project Managers to understand upcoming project milestones and design review requirements.
  • Managing design quality throughout the engineering workflow and ensuring reviews are completed in line with project programmes.
  • Reviewing technical queries and design change requests from construction teams and the supply chain.
  • Providing timely and accurate technical advice throughout the construction phase.
  • Contributing to CDM and commissioning strategy meetings.
  • Working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines and project teams to resolve design requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve designs, processes and project delivery.
  • Supporting engineering leads and discipline engineers to deliver outputs on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior and less experienced Electrical Engineers.
  • Championing sustainable and low-carbon electrical design.
  • Supporting the development of offsite build, modular construction and repeatable engineering solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
