Established for over 45 years, this independent Mechanical & Electrical consultancy delivers the full range of building services design across the UK. With an impressive portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential and mixed-use developments, they have built a reputation for delivering technically excellent, client-focused engineering solutions.
The senior leadership team remains actively involved in project delivery, creating a supportive and collaborative environment where engineers are empowered to take ownership of projects while receiving ongoing guidance and professional development. The business places a strong emphasis on quality, innovation and building long-term client relationships.
Working alongside leading architects, developers and contractors, you'll become part of a highly respected team delivering projects from initial concept through to completion.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the electrical design on a wide range of projects, manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued success of the business. There is also a genuine opportunity to progress into Associate level for the right individual.

- Manage project programmes, budgets and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
- Produce and review detailed electrical design calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
- Attend client, design team and site meetings, acting as the lead electrical engineer where required.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and external consultants throughout the design process.
- Undertake site inspections, witness commissioning activities and provide technical support during construction.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business.
- Mentor and support intermediate and junior engineers, providing technical guidance and encouraging professional development.
- Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with current regulations, industry standards and company quality procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
