SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Job Purpose
To deliver electrical engineering solutions with a professionally managed level of risk, meeting allocated engineering responsibilities, product baselines, and project-specific requirements.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead allocated projects from an electrical engineering perspective, as well as supporting business development activities, delivering work to defined budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
The role is varied and includes the design and development of LV and MV electrical systems, control systems, PLC and HMI programming, electrical panel design, plant and equipment layouts, instrumentation interfaces, and associated technical documentation.
The position would suit an experienced electrical engineer with a strong design background, preferably gained within power generation, energy, industrial automation, large rotating equipment, or other complex engineering environments. Alternatively, the role would suit a specialist in PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems looking to broaden their engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering guidance and technical solutions for assigned products, projects, engineering baselines, and development activities.
- Provide technical support across electrical engineering activities.
- Take ownership of the practical realisation and implementation of electrical engineering solutions.
- Maintain electrical engineering technical publications, specifications, standards, and manuals.
- Lead assigned projects and technical activities from an electrical engineering perspective.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of electrical systems, processes, methods, and engineering practices.
Role Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will work as part of an experienced engineering team based in the South West, contributing to the design and development of complex industrial equipment and integrated electrical and control systems.
The role will involve working across both established product platforms and customer-specific projects, providing electrical engineering expertise from concept and design through to verification, validation, manufacture, commissioning, and customer support.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be technically accountable to the Engineering Manager through the Principal Electrical Engineer.
Where required, the Senior Electrical Engineer may undertake activities normally associated with Principal Engineer or Engineer responsibilities, with appropriate support provided where necessary.

Key Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years relevant Electrical Engineering experience.
- Have the ability to and be willing to and flexible to undertake short overseas visits.
- Hold a driving licence valid in the UK & A valid passport for travel.
Salary
£48,000-£60,000 DOE
