This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to play a key role in developing next-generation energy systems that are helping shape the future of sustainable power. This position offers the chance to work on highly advanced engineering projects across integrated power technologies within a collaborative environment.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the delivery of electrical engineering developments across complex projects - from early-stage feasibility and system architecture through to design, integration, testing, and operational support. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and scientific teams to develop robust, high-quality electrical solutions for cutting-edge industrial applications. This role would suit someone who enjoys both hands-on engineering and design within an innovative technology business.

- Lead electrical engineering activities and deliverables across multiple projects
- Define and agree electrical scope of work within project teams
- Undertake system-level trade studies and develop electrical architectures
- Produce single line diagrams, wiring schematics, and detailed electrical designs
- Specify and select electrical equipment and components
- Develop requirements and technical specifications for transformers, motors, circuit protection, and wiring systems
- Generate manufacturing and compliance documentation for electrical systems
- Support integration, testing, validation, and commissioning activities
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to ensure successful product integration
- Participate in safety and risk review activities
- Carry out fault-finding, testing, and root-cause analysis using a variety of test equipment
- Ensure quality, compliance, and configuration control across all electrical deliverables
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with health & safety standards
What We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong experience designing electrical systems within industrial or process environments
- Knowledge of BS7671:2018
- Experience designing systems compliant with EN 60204
- Knowledge of PLC hardware selection and configuration, particularly Siemens systems
- Experience working within or designing for hazardous area / ATEX environments
- Strong practical fault-finding and electrical hardware design capability
- Comfortable working both independently and within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong documentation and communication skills
