Job Description
Join us and help deliver some of the UK and Ireland’s most important solar PV, battery storage and private wire projects. Your electrical engineering expertise will shape technical decisions across the project lifecycle while supporting the transition to a cleaner, more secure energy future.
At EDF power solutions, we’re shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Your work will help us turn that ambition into action – delivering renewable energy solutions that will power homes, businesses and communities for generations to come.
The Opportunity
As Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role within our Solar, Storage and Private Wire Engineering Team. You’ll support a diverse portfolio of solar PV, battery storage and private wire projects, providing technical expertise that helps deliver engineering excellence across every stage of project development and delivery.
Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this is a hybrid role with a mix of home working and time in our #London, #Edinburgh or #Durham offices one or two days per month. You’ll also travel to project sites and other locations as needed to support delivery and collaboration.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence major renewable energy investments, review and assure engineering solutions, support the development of engineering standards, and work alongside multidisciplinary teams that are helping accelerate the UK and Ireland’s transition to low-carbon energy.
Why EDF power solutions?
We’re united by a shared ambition: to tackle climate change, shaping an Electric UK and Ireland. Our diverse team is growing fast, driven by innovation and a commitment to clean, green energy for all.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
