Senior Electrical Estimator
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join a leading M&E contractor based in E1.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished Electrical Estimator with a strong background in commercial, residential, fit-out and major M&E projects. You will play a key role within the pre-construction team, taking ownership of electrical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and handover.
The position offers the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of technically challenging, high-value projects across London and the surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of electrical tenders, from initial enquiry and tender review through to final submission.
- Produce detailed and accurate estimates for electrical packages across major M&E projects.
- Complete detailed take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Prepare labour, material, plant and subcontractor costings.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and commercially viable submissions.
- Identify potential risks, opportunities, value engineering options and cost savings throughout the tender process.
- Work closely with the Estimating Manager, Commercial, Design and Operational teams during pre-construction.
- Attend tender interviews, clarification meetings and client meetings where required.
- Review design information and highlight discrepancies, omissions and potential commercial risks.
- Produce detailed tender breakdowns, qualifications and exclusions.
- Assist with the development of project programmes, preliminaries and procurement strategies.
- Support the handover of successfully secured projects to the commercial and delivery teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.

Requirements
- Significant experience as an Electrical Estimator / Senior Electrical Estimator within the M&E building services sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations including LV distribution, containment, lighting, small power, fire alarms, data, security and associated systems.
- Experience tendering large-scale commercial and major M&E projects.
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and technical tender documentation.
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of current labour and material costs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation, communication and client-facing skills.
- Experience with industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Electrical trade, engineering or building services background would be advantageous.
