Job Opportunity: Senior Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, transitioning to Sizewell C from January 2027
Engagement: Inside IR35, umbrella, initial six months with an anticipated 12+ month assignment

Our client, a leading organisation in the Infrastructure, Energy, and Nuclear sectors, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join their team for a prestigious project at Hinkley Point C. This groundbreaking initiative is pivotal to the UK’s Net Zero targets, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's success while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of major electrical packages from concept through to handover, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Develop and implement package execution strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project delivery, establishing priorities that align with broader programme objectives.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for clients and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Monitor project performance against budget, programme, and commercial targets, while managing risks and opportunities.
  • Champion a strong Zero Harm and Nuclear Safety Culture, promoting compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.

What Our Client Is Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Significant experience in delivering electrical projects within highly regulated sectors such as infrastructure, energy, or nuclear.
  • A proven track record of managing projects from design through to handover, demonstrating strong leadership and commercial awareness.
  • Proficiency in project coordination, stakeholder management, and client-facing roles, with a solid understanding of quality assurance and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experiences will be advantageous:

  • Experience within Nuclear New Build or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical and nuclear-grade equipment and systems.
  • APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent Project Management qualification is desirable.
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards professional accreditation.
