Role Overview
As a Senior Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of major M&E packages across the project lifecycle, ensuring safe, high-quality and commercially successful outcomes.
Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee all aspects of project execution from design, procurement and construction through to commissioning and handover. You will act as a senior client interface and play a key role in driving project performance, managing risk and ensuring delivery excellence.
Working alongside Construction Managers, Operations Managers and Engineering leadership teams, you will provide strategic direction and contribute to the successful delivery of the wider project.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the successful delivery of complex M&E projects and work packages.
- Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans (PEPs), delivery strategies and governance arrangements.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to required quality standards.
- Drive project performance through proactive programme management and effective decision-making.
- Manage project lifecycle activities from concept through to final handover.
- Lead project performance reviews and implement corrective actions where required.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Line manage Project Managers, Project Engineers and wider project delivery teams.
- Create a collaborative and high-performing project culture.
- Develop project capability through mentoring, coaching and professional development.
- Ensure effective workforce planning and deployment of resources.
- Promote knowledge sharing and lessons learned across the project.

Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as a senior client-facing representative for M&E project delivery activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Lead project governance meetings, progress reviews and strategic discussions.
- Ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain alignment with project objectives.
Engineering & Construction Integration
- Provide leadership across the delivery of LV, HV and electrical infrastructure installations.
- Ensure effective coordination between engineering, design, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
- Manage design delivery and ensure engineering outputs meet project requirements.
- Support strategic problem-solving and decision-making across project interfaces.
- Ensure constructability, operability and maintainability requirements are considered throughout delivery.
Commercial & Risk Management
- Support site estimating function.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
- Produce and Issue Early Warning Notices, Delay Notices and Compensation Events providing full substantiation.
- Lead change management activities and ensure appropriate governance controls are applied.
- Support contract administration, variation management and dispute resolution where required.
- Ensure financial performance and project objectives remain aligned.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Champion the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety culture principles and project requirements.
- Work closely with HSSE teams to deliver project safety objectives.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Support audits, inspections and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a questioning attitude and continuous improvement culture.

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
- HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience delivering major engineering or construction projects.
- Proven track record managing large-scale electrical projects within highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing project teams and direct reports.
- Professional Project Management qualification such as APM PMQ, Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent or working towards.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, LV/HV infrastructure, power distribution and construction delivery.
- Experience managing project budgets, programmes, risk and change.
- Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Desirable Qualifications/ Experience
- Nuclear sector experience.
- Experience delivering electrical systems within major infrastructure projects.
- Chartered status or working towards professional registration.
- Knowledge of commissioning and handover processes for safety-critical systems.
- Understanding of nuclear quality requirements and assurance processes.
