Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join our Electronic Engineering team in St Asaph. The role will support the design and delivery of innovative, low-power electronic systems, modules, and sub-assemblies for advanced vision systems.

You will shape product solutions, support NPI and production, and drive continuous improvement across engineering.

This is a senior, hands-on role offering technical challenge, career development, and occasional UK or international travel.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead the electronic design contribution within integrated project teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Define hardware, firmware, embedded software, and system requirements.
  • Act as technical authority for electronic systems, modules, and sub-assemblies.
  • Produce calculations, analyses, drawings, and engineering reports.
  • Own technical compliance and manage design risk through studies, reviews, and verification testing.
  • Lead or contribute to formal technical reviews.
  • Verify hardware, firmware, embedded software, and applications against system requirements.
  • Debug hardware/software integration using appropriate lab tools, test equipment, and development environments.
  • Lead customer, supplier, and specification discussions to ensure robust product development.
  • Work with external providers, including PCB layout, PCB manufacture, test houses, module suppliers, and design subcontractors.
  • Support bids and proposals with clear, credible technical input.
  • Support production to enable on-time delivery and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain external engineering links and introduce relevant technologies for future business needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
