Senior Electronics Engineer

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join an established engineering organisation specialising in advanced electronic systems for defence and security applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, developing sophisticated electronic solutions within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Both permanent and 12-month fixed-term contract options are available, offering flexibility depending on your circumstances and career preferences.

The Opportunity

You'll play a key role in the design, development and ongoing improvement of complex electronic systems, working across technologies including EMC, power management, servo control, processor interfacing and communications.

Working alongside experienced electronics, mechanical and software engineers, you'll take ownership of electronic designs from initial concept through to testing, validation and manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits, including multi-layer PCB designs.
  • Produce and maintain PCB layouts, schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
  • Manage electronic component obsolescence, identifying suitable alternatives and implementing redesigns.
  • Conduct design reviews, verification, validation and electronic system testing.
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic issues and support manufacturing and production teams.
  • Ensure designs meet EMC/EMI requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external suppliers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
