The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join an established engineering and technology business delivering bespoke electronic solutions for a range of OEM customers.

This is a hands-on design position focused on technically challenging hardware projects. The successful candidate will take ownership of designs from initial concept through to a proven, manufacturable product, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The role will cover the full product lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, circuit design, PCB development, testing, validation, and production.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who wants to remain technically hands-on, rather than move into a predominantly management-focused position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own hardware designs from concept through to production
  • Interpret customer requirements & specifications
  • Carry out circuit design & component selection
  • Complete worst-case analysis & simulation
  • Work closely with PCB layout engineers
  • Carry out board bring-up, testing & fault finding
  • Design for manufacture, test & compliance
  • Support EMC, safety & qualification testing
  • Produce technical documentation, specifications & test plans
  • Lead and participate in design reviews
  • Provide technical input for quotations & proposals
  • Attend customer technical discussions
  • Identify and communicate technical risks
  • Provide technical support and mentor less experienced engineers

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
