Job Title

Are you an experienced hardware engineer who thrives on taking advanced ideas from concept right through to market-ready reality?

Sustainable Infrastructure's client are expanding their engineering capabilities to deliver a diverse R&D and technical project pipeline over the next two years. Based hybrid in Exeter, this permanent, full-time role offers you the chance to make a direct impact within a tight-knit, collaborative technical team. As our Senior Electronics Engineer, you will own critical hardware designs, navigate technical challenges, and ensure our cutting-edge products meet the highest benchmarks for quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete hardware lifecycle, transforming initial prototypes into mature, commercially viable products.
  • Design and develop custom PCBs using Altium Designer, performing rigorous SPICE circuit simulations throughout the development phase.
  • Carry out hands-on hardware testing, board bring-up, fault finding, and design optimisation to mitigate technical risks early.
  • Spearhead product certification and compliance processes, ensuring designs meet IEC 61010, EMC, safety, and radio communications standards.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for external suppliers and prepare thorough engineering documentation, from risk assessments to test reports.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
