Role: Senior Electronics Engineer
Location: Worcester
Salary: £57,000 – £65,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days onsite
The Role
A growing technology business is looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to join its expanding engineering team.
You’ll play a key role across the full electronics development lifecycle, from architecture and circuit design through to prototyping, verification, compliance and production. Working closely with engineers across software, product and manufacturing, you’ll help develop robust, reliable and commercially focused electronic products.
This is a varied opportunity where you’ll have the chance to take ownership of new product development while also improving and supporting existing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, verify and support electronic hardware across new and existing products.
- Define electronic architectures and develop practical design solutions.
- Produce schematics, PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation using Altium Designer.
- Manage component libraries, design standards and engineering processes.
- Select and qualify components based on performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability and lifecycle.
- Support prototype builds, design reviews, product introduction and manufacturing.
- Carry out and support verification, validation, EMC and environmental testing.
- Investigate and resolve hardware, production and field issues through structured root-cause analysis.
- Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards, regulations and internal engineering processes.
- Support project planning, estimation and delivery of electronics projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering processes and best practice.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.

Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in electronics design and development.
- Strong experience designing analogue, digital and mixed-signal electronics.
- Advanced experience with Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience taking electronic products through the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production.
- Strong understanding of hardware verification, validation and testing.
- Experience with component selection, derating, reliability and obsolescence management.
- Experience with communication interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Ethernet.
- Experience supporting EMC, safety and environmental compliance.
- Strong fault-finding, debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience working within structured engineering and change-control processes.
- Familiarity with PLM, document management or version-control systems.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with wider engineering teams.

- IoT and connected products
- High-speed digital design and signal integrity
- RF and wireless technologies
- Microcontrollers and associated power, memory and communications circuitry
- Sensor, measurement and protection circuits
- DFMEA and structured product development
- Product certification and regulatory compliance
- Supporting products through manufacturing, production testing and field investigations
