We're looking for a Senior Email Developer to lead and evolve how Skipton creates, manages and delivers email communications.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical capability that supports millions of customer interactions every year. You'll shape the standards, tools and best practices that help colleagues create trusted, accessible and effective email communications, while ensuring every email reflects our brand and delivers the right customer experience.

As our subject matter expert, you'll combine technical expertise with creativity and continuous improvement. From developing reusable templates and improving deliverability to coaching colleagues and influencing future ways of working, you'll play a key role in helping us make every email work harder for customers, members and our business.

At Skipton, we're founded on fairness. We exist to do right by our members - and we believe that starts with doing right by our people. So, whoever you are and whatever you bring, there's a place for you here and a genuine plan for where you go next.

What You’ll Do

We don't ask for members' attention. We earn it - one campaign, one design, one idea at a time. Join our Marketing team and you'll help decide who thinks of us first, what they think about us and why we're the ones they choose. It takes a team with real energy and ambition to make that happen, and that's exactly what you'd be joining.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Owning and developing Skipton's email design and development capability, setting the standards that support high-quality customer communications
  • Creating and maintaining reusable email templates and content components that enable colleagues to build emails more efficiently and independently
  • Leading the relationship management of external suppliers
  • Ensuring email communications are accessible, responsive, compliant and aligned to brand standards across all devices and channels
  • Acting as the Society's specialist for email development, deliverability and technical governance, helping resolve complex issues and improve performance
  • Using testing, insight and optimisation techniques to improve customer engagement and drive email effectiveness
  • Working closely with teams across Marketing, Digital, Technology and Customer Insight to continuously improve how we communicate with our members

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our story began in 1853 in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Today, you’ll find us across England and Scotland, from Aberdeen to Plymouth.

We help over a million members put down roots, save for what matters, and feel good about their money. As a mutual, they own us, so everything we do is for them. You'll feel that same fairness and purpose in how all 2,500 of our colleagues work together, too

It all means that life at Skipton is more exciting than you imagine.

At Skipton we value work life balance and are proud to support hybrid and flexible working. This opportunity is for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday and you’ll spend a minimum of 3 days a week collaborating with colleagues at our Head Office in Skipton.

It’s not just our members who are important to us.

You are, too.

Lots of organisations talk about wellbeing, but they don’t always back it up. As a mutual, we put people first. And that includes the people who work here. So, when we say we care about your wellbeing, we mean it.

Wellbeing isn't just one thing. It’s about feeling good, having energy, and being able to be yourself and perform at your best. That’s why we offer help for your mental and physical health across five key areas.

What’s more, it’s help that you can actually use too - not just read about.

Apply now

Sounds like you? Then apply now.

You don't need to tick every box - we look for people who care about our members and who want to grow at the same time. The rest can follow.
