Job Title

A fast-growing engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and deliver innovative embedded products across varied markets. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ideas from early concept through prototype and into production, working closely with both engineers and customers.

The Role

You'll be developing robust, high-quality embedded software for technically demanding projects, often under tight timelines. You'll contribute across the full lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, debugging, and customer-facing documentation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop embedded/real-time software in C and modern C++
  • Work on Linux system development (e.g. Yocto, Debian)
  • Build software for 16/32-bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM, PIC, MSP430, DSP)
  • Integrate standard comms interfaces: Ethernet, USB, RS232, I2C, SPI
  • Control and integrate wireless modules: Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, LoRa, NFC
  • Debug, fault-find, and improve reliability/performance of embedded systems
  • Produce customer-ready documentation, test evidence, and reports
  • Evaluate and introduce new tools, techniques, and processes where useful

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
