Core skills you’ll bring
- 7+ years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years of experience with DO-178C development.
- Strong experience in embedded software development, particularly low-level software such as BSPs and device drivers.
- Strong C programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with VxWorks and/or Linux.
- Deep understanding of DO-178C, particularly DAL A certification, and familiarity with related standards.
- Experience developing, debugging, and troubleshooting embedded software for custom and commercial off-the-shelf hardware.
- Experience with embedded software development environments such as Wind River Workbench or Eclipse.
- Experience with custom embedded hardware bring-up and validation.
- Experience working with common embedded processor architectures such as PowerPC, MIPS, x86, or ARM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
- Strong decision-making and judgment skills, with the ability to anticipate and prevent potential technical issues.
- Willingness to mentor and support junior engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

- Experience with multi-core and virtualization architectures.
- Experience with Simics.
- Previous experience with software certification in safety-critical or regulated environments.
- Advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience working directly with customers or on customer sites.
- Experience with additional embedded processor architectures.
- Familiarity with safety-critical embedded systems and related industry standards.
The impact you'll create
- Design, implement, and validate embedded software for custom and COTS hardware systems.
- Develop Board Support Packages (BSPs) for embedded hardware platforms.
- Design, implement, and test software drivers for a variety of peripheral devices.
- Develop hardware test code and support hardware bring-up, integration, and validation.
- Develop and maintain high-quality embedded software in compliance with DO-178C requirements.
- Contribute to software development activities for projects targeting DAL A certification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex embedded software and hardware-related issues.
- Prepare detailed software design documentation and technical plans.
- Support technical planning, including effort estimation and identifying required technical skills for project delivery.
- Work closely with embedded software engineers, project managers, customer engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver project objectives.
- Communicate technical information clearly and effectively with both engineering teams and customers.
- Provide technical mentoring and knowledge sharing to junior engineers.
- Apply previous technical experience to quickly understand and solve challenges across different embedded systems and customer projects.
- Work independently while taking ownership of assigned technical tasks and delivering them on time.
- Support customer projects and, when required, work on customer sites.
