Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Newcastle upon Tyne
Are you an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer looking to work on innovative embedded technology? This exciting Senior Embedded Software Engineer job offers the opportunity to develop advanced software solutions for complex communication and control systems.
You will design and develop reliable embedded software across a range of platforms, including low-level firmware, RTOS applications, and embedded Linux systems. Working alongside hardware, FPGA, and systems engineers, you will help deliver high-performance solutions from concept through to production.

The successful candidate will have strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with embedded Linux, ARM-based platforms, RTOS environments, and resource-constrained systems. Experience with Yocto, Zephyr, networking, and secure embedded development would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing embedded Linux applications, services, and system components
- Creating firmware for RTOS and bare-metal environments
- Supporting board bring-up and hardware debugging
- Designing communication interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I2C, and UART
- Developing networking features, APIs, and secure communication protocols
- Troubleshooting complex software, hardware, and system issues
- Supporting secure software practices including authentication, encryption, and trusted updates
