Senior Embedded Software Engineer -Southampton
We’re working with an established engineering business developing sophisticated embedded systems and are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team.
The Role - Senior Embedded Software Engineer -Southampton
You’ll be responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of embedded software across a range of products, working closely with software, FPGA and SoC engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and test C/C++ software
- Design and implement new embedded software applications and features
- Carry out unit and integration testing
- Develop software for system control and monitoring
- Integrate communication protocols including RS232/RS422, CAN, RTP, UDP and TCP/IP
- Develop GUI applications using commercial and open-source libraries

We’re looking for someone with:
- 3+ years’ experience in Embedded Software Development
- Strong C++ development experience
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Experience with CI/CD
- Strong knowledge of SOLID principles, OOD and software design patterns
- Security clearance will be needed
