About the company
Our client is an innovative medical technology business. They develop critical point-of-care devices for GP surgeries, intensive care units, and specialist hospital departments. In these settings, performance, safety, and reliability can't be compromised. Their products help clinicians, extend lives, and are built to work reliably in demanding clinical environments.
The opportunity
As Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you'll own embedded software development across the business and be its software authority. You'll define the software architecture, set development standards, and make sure software quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance meet medical-grade requirements.
You'll work closely with the hardware, systems, verification, and regulatory teams on products used in hospitals, critical care wards, and frontline clinical settings. This is a key role in a growing medical device company, and your decisions will directly affect both product performance and patient outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
