Role Description
This is a full-time Senior Embedded Software Engineer role based in England, United Kingdom, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will design, implement, and optimize embedded software for automotive control units and related systems. Daily responsibilities include:

- Developing and reviewing software architecture
- Writing and debugging embedded code
- Integrating AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR components
- Participating in model-based development activities

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with automotive standards, performing software verification and validation, and supporting test automation across MiL, SiL, and HiL environments. The engineer will also:
- Mentor junior team members
- Contribute to technical decision-making
- Support continuous improvement of development processes
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Embedded Software Programming and Embedded Software development for automotive or similar safety-critical systems.
- Experience in end-to-end Software Development, including implementation, integration, and maintenance of embedded applications.
- Proficiency in Debugging embedded systems, using appropriate tools and methods to resolve complex software and hardware interaction issues.
- Capability in Software Design, including architecture definition, modular design, and adherence to coding and documentation standards.
- Hands-on experience with automotive communication networks (CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and relevant tooling.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR (Classic and/or Adaptive) configuration and integration, and familiarity with model-based development tools such as Simulink and TargetLink.
- Background in testing and validation (MiL, SiL, HiL) and exposure to test automation frameworks.
- Understanding of ASPICE and ISO 26262 or similar functional safety and process standards in the automotive domain.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
