Senior Employer's Agent

Location: London / Sidcup
Working: Hybrid
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
Type: Permanent

This exciting role is integral to supporting the delivery of diverse construction projects as part of a strategic expansion. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to project oversight and stakeholder management, ensuring projects meet all quality, cost, and time requirements. You'll get hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle, from preparing specifications and tender documents through to contract administration, valuations, defects inspections and final accounts. Just as importantly, you'll receive structured support and training designed to help you develop towards professional status.

It's a role where you'll be expected to learn quickly, take responsibility and gradually build your own technical and client-facing capability.

Responsibilities

You'll support Senior Surveyors across a range of Project Management and Employer's Agent instructions, including:

  • Preparing specifications, Employer's Requirements, design briefs and preliminary documentation
  • Preparing tender documentation and issuing packages to contractors
  • Analysing tender returns and assisting with tender reports
  • Compiling building contracts and development agreements
  • Supporting contract administration and carrying out quality-control site inspections
  • Attending and chairing project meetings and preparing clear meeting minutes and records
  • Assisting with interim valuations and agreeing final accounts
  • Assessing Extensions of Time and Loss & Expense claims
  • Carrying out end-of-defects inspections and reporting on outstanding works
  • Supporting the wider delivery of Project Management and Employer's Agent services
  • Building relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to promote the wider consultancy services

You'll also be expected to work within the company's Business Management and Quality Management systems and develop a good understanding of its policies, procedures and ways of working.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Building Surveying, Project Management or equivalent
  • Working towards RICS chartership or equivalent
  • Good construction knowledge
  • Experience with JCT building contracts
  • Understanding of Project Management and/or Employer's Agent services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
  • Full UK driving licence
