Overview

An established and highly regarded M and E Building Services consultancy is seeking a Senior Energy and Carbon Consultant to join their team in the Eastbourne area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in sustainability and energy consultancy to take on a pivotal role within a forward-thinking organisation.

  • Collaborating with clients, architects, and project teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Conducting detailed energy and carbon assessments using industry-standard tools.
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation for planning submissions.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Energy and Carbon Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting overheating assessments to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Delivering Part L compliance assessments and providing expert advice on energy efficiency.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications with a focus on sustainability and energy performance.
  • Utilising IES VE software for energy modelling and analysis.
  • Performing Whole Life Carbon assessments using OneClick LCA to support sustainable design and decision-making.

You will also play a key role in mentoring junior team members, managing projects independently, and contributing to the growth and success of the consultancy.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Proven experience in operational energy and Whole Life Carbon assessments.
  • Strong technical expertise in sustainability, energy modelling, and carbon analysis.
  • Proficiency in IES VE and OneClick LCA software.
  • A solid understanding of Part L compliance, overheating assessments, and planning submissions.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or Building Services Engineering is preferred.
