About the Role

As a member of the EMEA Solutions team at Energy Exemplar, this role is the bridge between our power trading customer base and the full capability of the PLEXOS platform. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in fundamental energy market modelling with hands-on experience in trading desk workflows, and is equally comfortable scripting automated pipelines.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with trading organisations across EMEA, helping them unlock the full operational potential of PLEXOS and shaping how energy trading desks leverage fundamental modelling in their day-to-day decisions.

This role has three primary objectives:

  1. Deliver tailored support and solutions for power trading customers and prospects: Work collaboratively with customers to ensure PLEXOS meets the needs of trading desks, from pre-trade analysis to post-trade optimisation.
  2. Pre-Sales Technical Support: Partner with the EMEA sales team to demonstrate the value of PLEXOS to prospective trading organisations. Responsibilities include delivering technical demonstrations tailored to trading desk use cases, responding to detailed functional and technical queries during the sales process, supporting proof-of-concept engagements, and contributing to thought leadership content that positions Energy Exemplar as the platform of choice for fundamental-model-driven trading.
  3. Post-Sales Customer Success: Serve as a trusted technical point of contact for existing trading customers. Support onboarding, resolve modelling and workflow challenges, and work collaboratively with customers to ensure their PLEXOS deployment continues to meet the evolving needs of their trading operations. Act as the voice of the trading customer back into the Solutions team, surfacing recurring needs and improvement opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
