At Assystem

Our mission is to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to a sustainable future. As one of the world's leading independent nuclear engineering and project management companies, we support governments, developers, asset owners, contractors, and operators in delivering complex infrastructure across the nuclear, energy, transport, defence, and infrastructure sectors.

Assystem's Environment, Consents & Engagement team

Provides consenting, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and environmental advisory services across some of the UK's most significant programmes. Our work spans nationally significant infrastructure projects, transport networks, major regeneration schemes, and strategic nuclear programmes.

How you can be a part of that switch

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead stakeholder engagement activities on major transport, infrastructure, and energy programmes, whilst helping to expand and transfer best practice into Assystem's growing nuclear portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing relationships with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees, regulators, communities, landowners, and programme stakeholders. They will support the delivery of complex projects through strategic engagement, stakeholder risk management, and the development of integrated engagement strategies aligned with programme and consenting requirements.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across both traditional infrastructure projects and the UK's expanding nuclear sector, supporting new nuclear generation, decommissioning, defence nuclear programmes, and strategic energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement Leadership

  • Lead the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement strategies for major infrastructure and transport projects.
  • Identify, map, and analyse stakeholder interests, influence, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage engagement programmes with local authorities, statutory bodies, government agencies, regulators, communities, and industry groups.
  • Lead stakeholder workshops, consultations, public engagement events, and senior-level meetings.
  • Develop stakeholder management plans and engagement reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure stakeholder commitments are captured, monitored, and delivered.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
