The Role
Referment is working with a workforce-management SaaS business whose web products help organisations schedule teams and manage day-to-day people operations.
This is a senior, frontend-focused engineering role with real product involvement. You will lead frontend architecture and implementation within a cross-functional team, working closely with Product and Design to test ideas and deliver accessible, scalable features.
- Shape frontend technical direction and own important implementation decisions for your product team.
- Build production-grade features using Angular and TypeScript, with attention to performance, accessibility and maintainability.
- Join discovery work, user interviews, prototypes and rapid experiments to validate what should be built.
- Contribute to Node.js and NestJS backend work when needed to unblock delivery.
- Support planning and retrospectives, mentor less-experienced engineers and champion clean, testable code in a CI/CD environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
