I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You Will Do
- Build and manage a robust multi-tenant infrastructure on Azure, including deployment pipelines, observability, and tenant-specific isolation using PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.
- Architect and iterate on the core data asset, normalizing disparate global datasets to create predictive signals for fund allocators across Europe and North America.
- Collaborate directly with design partners at FCA-regulated firms to translate feedback into production-ready modules, shipping changes from development to users within hours.
The ideal candidate
- You have 5+ years of experience shipping production software with significant depth in PostgreSQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and migrations against live data.
- You possess 3+ years of professional TypeScript experience, using the type system as a design tool to handle complex data boundaries and LLM outputs.
