Engineer - Built Environment / Track & Value Improvement
Contract | London | Hybrid Working
We are recruiting for an Engineer to support engineering-led maintenance optimisation, standards challenge and value improvement initiatives within a major rail environment.
We are open to candidates at all levels of experience, from engineers looking to develop their asset management and optimisation experience through to experienced engineers with strong technical and analytical backgrounds.
The Role
- Review and challenge existing maintenance regimes, technical requirements and specifications.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and optimise maintenance strategies.
- Analyse maintenance, asset performance and technical data to support recommendations.
- Support cost modelling, benefits assessments and savings tracking.
- Produce clear technical reports, business cases and presentations.
- Work with engineering, maintenance, Procurement, Finance, Planning and external suppliers.
- Support value-chain, contract and supply-chain analysis.
- Manage multiple workstreams and maintain clear records of actions and findings.

About You
- Engineering background within rail, infrastructure, transport, utilities or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, maintenance or asset management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident written and verbal communicator.
- Good organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with suppliers or contractors is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Built Environment, Civils and/or Track would be advantageous.
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred, but not essential depending on experience.
